5 Ways to Take Care of Your Candles

Updated: Feb 3, 2023

“How do you create the longest and healthiest burn?”

Candle Care

When Country Meadow Market, LLC first started, I was SHOCKED to hear how many people didn't know they were supposed to be trimming their wick before EVERY burn! It is essential to cut the wick to approximately 1/4"each time. If your wick is dancing or you have a "ball" at the top of your wick, it is too long. It is also important not to cut your wick too short or it may affect your wax pool.

When burning your candle, you should never blow it out until the wax pool hits the outside of your jar. If you blow it out too soon, you are training your candle to "tunnel" and this causes the wax to burn straight down and leave a ring of wax around the outside of your jar. We don't want wasted wax. :)

It is not recommended to burn your candle for more than four hours at a time.

When you aren't using your candle, you it's also a good idea to put the lid on to prevent dust and dirt from getting in your wax.

Enjoy!!!!
